MVS Metals

Owen Industries is a proud sponsor of the Boys & Girls Clubs!

Owen Industries latest addition in quality equipment is the new Hexagon Absolute Arm. This 7-axis probe and scanner combo supports quick scans as well as Part=Cad pulled data point using solid models and comparing nominal to actual data in real time.  The PCDMIS software (developed by Hexagon Metrology) fully analyzes a solid model which allows geometric tolerancing to be seamlessly imported and used as a “template” or perfect part to check against what our laser and brakes produce (data could be native to other CAD/CAM software).

This cutting-edge equipment and software allows the PPAP process to be expedited.  PVS can now use a solid model of a potential part and completely dimension from beginning to end in a flat or formed view, add in any key characteristics, and simply scan or pull points with the probe.  We then mesh the compiled data with the theoretical dimensions that are embedded within the solid model.

This technology is light years beyond what most fab shops are using and is one more reason why PVS Metals is the best solution for your steel fab needs!

Rolling Into 2021

While 2020 keeps rolling out the hits… MVS Metals has been rolling as well! Our recent addition of an Akyapak AHS 30/16 sheet and plate roller has been doing exactly that. Capable of rolling cylinders, half-cylinders, cones, ovals and squares in combinations up to 3/4″ thick and 122” long, it can do just about anything you can imagine!

We have been busy processing piece parts as well as items that go into sub-assemblies, which makes having control of the process that much more valuable to us, and much more cost effective for you!

Please contact our sales department today at sales@mvsmetals.com for more information!

Ron Bolyard 30 year tenured employee retired today. He operated our Messer 2016 plasma/flame machine.  We made a sign and had all the employees sign it.  Thank you for your service Ron and enjoy retirement!

#MIKESTRONG

Owen Industries has been a family owned company for the better part of a century, and that culture of togetherness is lived by its employees. We spend a third of our lives with the people that we work with, and it is impossible not to get to know them beyond just a coworker. One of the prominent members of the MVS Metals/Owen Industries family is Mike Jordan, who has been with the company since January 1977. Over these 42 wonderful years, he has seen many faces come and go, but those who are here now are well aware of his passion, his humor, his drive, and his joy that he shares with his work family. Sunday, September 15th, in conjunction with the ALS Association, over 80 members of his family joined him in support of his fight against ALS. The 1-Mile walk took place at 1pm at the Chris Larsen Park Shelter in Sioux City, Iowa. Together we are family. Together we can make a difference. Together we are #MIKESTRONG.

Ten years ago, The Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day Parade was created by a group of local Irish Siouxlanders who wanted a fun way to bring the community together, and it’s been going strong ever since.

This year, MVS Metals was the primary sponsor of the parade, and chose to lead the way along the 10-block route through Historic 4th Street. There were about 3,500 people in attendance this year, the weather cooperating at a comfortable and sunny 45° with a light breeze.

Their custom-made float adorned decorations that were cut on the company’s Water Jet table and painted after hours by some very artistic employees. It was armed with a plethora of beads, candy, and custom made MVS Metals 2019 St. Patty’s Day Parade shirts.

This was the second consecutive year that MVS participated in the Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Company Employees on the float this year were: Chad Vortherms, Elroy Sybesma, Jeff Remien, Brandt Kjose, Jace Jungemann, Aaron Mousel, and Clint Sheppard.
