The Pancake Man made a visit to OSC!

PVS employees brought their cars to work for our first Show & Shine! Lunch was served and our employees were able to check out their co-worker’s favorite ride! Food was great and the weather was perfect! Another reason we love where we work!!

Owen Industries/PVS Structures is excited to be a part of the new Omaha Performing Arts Campus Expansion. Construction has begun in downtown Omaha next to the Capitol District between 11th and 12th on Dodge street.  Erection for the steel portion of the project begins delivery in August 2021 and is expected to complete the main core and shell by November 2021.  The detailing of steel will last into 2022.  Completion is expected mid-2023.

The new building will be a performance theater with four steel trusses over 100’ long.  The catwalks that will attach to these will be used by stagehands, technicians and those that will help with lighting, props and sound.

This project has 1018 tons of steel.

Theater will include seating with balconies, VIP lounge, outside patio areas on two levels, and a canted swooping roofline to add the art type feeling. The venue is capable of accommodating audiences of up to 3,000 people.

Stay tuned for more updates on this project!

Thank you Troy Brand, Manager of Tool Steel at PVS Metals for capturing this amazing sunset over the PVS campus.

PVS nuclear team celebrating the delivery of the last C8 trunk on October 17th.   Over 100,000 hours were devoted to the supply for both VC Summer and Vogtle nuclear islands.  The level of complexity and challenge was unrivaled, and welcomed by our team of problem solvers.  Special thanks to Kent, Nick, Denny, Lester, Larry and Brandon for making these a reality.  Easy on paper, but making the steel is the real deal!

The HDR Topping out ceremony was earlier this week, with the final beam erecting yesterday.  Congratulations to our friends at HDR and Kiewit on an enormously successful project, and kudos to Sideplate for creating a system that certainly shaved weight off the building and time off the schedule.
